Yosemite National Park

Hike#21 - Yosemite Falls, the stunning Yosemite Valley and Beyond

There are number of hikes within Yosemite that you could pick! However, my favorite is the short walk to the Lower Yosemite Falls. We plan a trip to Yosemite every year, and mainly because we have so many pre-children memories of hiking to Half Dome, Vernal and Nevada Falls, and walking up to Glacier Point. At some point we would love the kids to be hiking along with us as we reach new milestone in the park.

There are several resources available for hiking with kids in the valley! Also, don't forget to get their national park passports while you are there!

Hike #22 - Lewis Creek Trail, Tenaya Yosemite

If you are ever staying in Tenaya village near Yosemite, like we were in May 2021, there is a must do hike around it. There are two things that makes it a memorable hike - Red Canyon Falls, and the Corneilu Falls which is probably a mile away from each other.

The trail to Red Rock Falls is an easy-stroll-beside-a-stream sort of hike. We saw lots of Spring wild flowers along the way. Definitely keep a look out for Rattle snakes here.

The Lewis Creek trailhead is located on highway 41, 7 miles south of Yosemite's southern entrance, and 7.5 miles north of the intersection of highways 41 and 49 in Oakhurst. Its a non-assuming easy to miss entrance to the trail, so definitely keep a lookout.

Hike #23 - Tenaya Lodge to the Logging mill

This is a small, infrequently visited trail, by the Yosemite Tenaya Lodge, and ends into a thriving logging mill and a horse stable.

The lodge takes you on a guided walk on this trail, but we decided to explore out by ourselves.
